Everything is not what it seems. Falling for what is in front of your eyes could cost your life… or at least your whole existence. Nowhere is safe and no one is to be trusted.
Their magic is the highest you would ever find. There’s no definite rule and no one knows for real how deep the power is running through them. Few have an idea about them and even fewer knows of their real existence. What are they?
In the mornings, they could be anything. They could be something you could pass by on the streets, the dog that your neighbor never had, or the animal being hunted in the deep forests. They could be anything and by anything, we mean anything.
When the bell rings that signals midnight, shape shifters (as they could easily be described as) are bound on a spell that they had cast themselves wherein after 24 human hours, they return to their original form. What exactly their original form is, no one knows. No one should know, not one single soul.
There had only been a few shape shifters that existed in this life time. And among them, even fewer or probably none was able to learn how to become the highest form of animals which is a human. It is the highest level of animal that existed and therefore needed the highest level of magic. Due to shape shifters being able to be anything, not everyone tried hard enough to learn the highest form of magic.
Shape shifters who finally reached the highest form of magic are free to live in the human world as long as they can keep their human form. They can live like any human being; they can eat, go to school, get a job and live normally. They are also free to fall in love, like any human being, but they should never use magic to make anyone in love with them even if they have the power to do so.
However powerful they are, they cannot control how the humans around them think and feel. They also can save any human from the fate of dying or reviving them from death, though it gives them the sense of weakness... but that was how the world of magic works.
In this world of magic and power, tribes and alliances are formed. Each tribe has its distinct seal and distinct kind of magic. They train themselves and everyone under them to become powerful and an asset to their tribe. However, battles between two tribes are possible yet very rare. And when the time comes that there is one, one could leave their tribe but they may never come back or show themselves again.
By nature shape shifters are gender-less. Due to them being anything, they have the will to choose to be what they want to be. They could be the girl who sells you make-up one day and be the guy who beats you up the next.
Lastly, shape shifters are the biggest secret that this world has. Why and how? We’ll soon learn about that.
